erik smetana: writer (or something like that)

That is the title of Ellen Meister's new book, which hits stands today! Ellen is an amazing writer (and fellow Zoetroper) whose short fiction has appeared in Smokelong Quarterly, Pindeldyboz, Haypenny and many others. Her debut novel Secret Confessions of the Applewood PTA was wonderful (and even plugged a bit by Lisa Kudrow). The Smart One, a HarpersCollins release, is a bit chick lit, a bit funny and a bit mystery -- in short it is definitely worth checking out if any of these things are your thing.
