Mad World

Things have been a bit hectic the last couple of weeks, thus the lack of posts. Between day-job shenanigans, the thesis, another large scale writing project and getting my act together for a new writer's group, I've been a bit neglectful when it comes to the interwebs.

So let's catch up!

First off, a huge congrats to my dear friend and amazingly talented writer Fran Friel for making the longlist of the British Fantasy Awards. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that she moves on to the shortlist.

Second, do you watch LOST? Are you as fanatical about it as I am? If you are, or even if you just like watching certain characters running around the jungle all sweaty, check out Ian Rogers's weekly article at BIFF BAM POP! Ian is a great guy and one heck of a wordsmith, so this is definitely worth the time.

Third, if you live in or around the St. Louis metro area, come see me May 9th at The Abbey in Belleville, Illinois. I'll be participating in a reading along with some other, far more talented writers. The event should kick off sometime around 7pm. As I know more details, I'll be sure to share them.

I'm sure there is a ton more that I'm forgetting to say, but work calls (the kind I get paid for and the kind that I don't really get paid for), so until next time (which is probably going to be a couple of book reviews that I've been meaning to get up for weeks now).

And for those that have e-mailed me about what books I'm going to ramble on about, they are:

    The Manual of Detection
St. Lucy's School for Girls Raised by Wolves
The Forest of Hands and Teeth
and The Little Sleep (once I finish reading it)
