Nooks and Crannies and Other Such Places

Namely places we (or at least me) keep books. But in order to amass stacks of hardbacks, paperbacks, chapbooks, etc. we generally have to make a trip to our local bookseller -- here in St. Louis, it's hard to beat Left Bank, Subterranean or Pudd'n Head and I'm sure most people near and far have their own favorite local bookshops. And that's the point of this post.

I'd like to know what are your favorite independent bookstores in your hometown, cities you've visited, or where you went to college. I'm working on a project that's looking to highlight these places and would love to get overwhelmed with suggestions for stores across the U.S. that maybe I haven't thought of (or haven't heard of).
