Erik Who?

It's fairly certain that I'm nowhere near important enough to warrant a bio page, but I suppose it's only fair that you know a little bit about me if you're going to be hanging around the site, checking in on my progress, or if I'm fortunate, you're the kindly buyer of a future book that is as yet incomplete and unagented. But I digress...

I'm a husband and dad (to two human girls and one canine boy), I have an MFA in Writing though that doesn't really qualify me for much other than talking and teaching composition and literature (which I've done in past), I have a day job in higher education that doesn't involve teaching, on occasion I have the habit to ramble on and on about things like: zombies and vampires (if it sparkles, it doesn't count), the superiority of Batman over Superman (and Marvel comics over DC), Doctor Who, the current state of affairs regarding veggie burgers, music I like (which you may in turn hate), movies (Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory for the win), and books (Reading is Fundamental!).

Maybe most importantly, I'm a writer - in the past I have managed to sneak my way into places like The Missouri Review, Mississippi Review, ESPN the Magazine, Hobart, and others. At the moment, I'm working on my first book - it's about good and evil and war and love and loss and some other things that are a bit more fantastical, all candy coated in a healthy dose of mysterious mystery. Oh,  and I overuse the word AWESOME - a lot, I might have a problem.
